In order to present the work and activities of the Slovak Road Association (SRA) and in an additional  effort to promote the "road issues“ not only within the professional, but also within the general public, several competitions are organized regularly:

Road Rodeo
It is organized annually and always in some other region of Slovakia on the sidelines of the Slovak Road Workers´ Days. It is a nationwide driving skills competition for winter maintenance vehicle drivers, preceded by regional competitions. The aim of the competition is to promote the difficult work of these drivers in carrying out winter road maintenance to the general public. Winners of the competition are awarded prizes and have a right to participate in the Rodeo V4 competition, the European Championships, or eventually in competitions organized by PIARC at winter road congresses.

Bridge Modeling Competition
The bridge modeling competition is organized for individuals and teams without any age limit or professional qualifications. The aim of the Bridge modeling competition is to design and build a model of a balsa wood dam bridge capable of bearing the heaviest possible load. The competition is evaluated within the framework of the Road Conference programme by testing the bearing capacity of the bridges until a bridge model is completely broken. Winners are awarded cash prizes and gifts.

Competition for the best thesis
Each year, the SRA awards the best master's theses in the field of road construction and road management at faculties of construction of three technical universities in Slovakia - STU in Bratislava, UNIZA in Žilina and Technical University in Košice. Cash prizes for the winners are handed over at graduation ceremonies.

Competition for the best doctoral dissertation thesis
The competition is announced for the third level of higher education – PhD. graduates, who submit their thesis with the prescribed documentation. Theses from all over Slovakia are evaluated by a commission and an author of the best work is awarded the SRA Prize including cash prize at the opening ceremony of the respective edition of the Road Conference. Winner of the competition also has the opportunity to present a paper about his/her thesis in the programme of the Road Conference and, if necessary, or present it in other forms and in professional journals.
